2025 registration is now closed. Schedule coming soon.
I WANT TO HOST!
That’s great, here’s how!
Confirm that you live within (or very near to) the festival footprint: roughly, the area between Riverside Drive, Beethoven Street, Chestnut Street, and Recreation Park
Clear your schedule the afternoon of August 31.
Team up with up to three bands/performers of your choosing.
Fill out a registration form on behalf of yourself and your performers (you’ll need to provide their email addresses) no later than July 30.
We’ll follow up with you via email to confirm, and we’ll reach out directly to performers for bios and social links for our website and to inquire if any of their band members are planning to perform in multiple groups during Porchfest.
Put your trust in us to schedule your porch in a manner that not only takes into account you and your chosen performers, but also any other hosts or bands within earshot, any member of any of those other bands also playing in another band, that other band’s hosts and neighbors, pedestrian flow, street closures, and crowd dispersal. In other words, this is utter chaos to organize and special requests cannot be accommodated. Please don’t ask.
In early August, we’ll give hosts and performers a sneak peek at the schedule before releasing it to the public roughly two weeks before the festival.
Party on, Garth.
We do not pair performers and hosts. It’s up to you to find each other. If you want to perform but can’t find anybody to host you, or if you want to host but don’t know any performers, there’s a facebook group and a digital bulletin board to help you facilitate amongst yourselves. Interested bands can post availability here and interested hosts can see a list of available bands here.
Please talk to your neighbors if you are considering hosting and take their wishes into consideration when signing up. Porchfest only exists if the neighborhood wants it to exist - our future is directly reliant on community goodwill.
There is a three band maximum per address.
Hosts and performers should free their schedules for the entirety of the afternoon.
If you rent your home, get written permission from your landlord before registering.
Hosts should remain onsite during the duration of performances.
Be prepared to provide trash/recycling receptacles in your yard.
Special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.
We use the terms “porch” and “band” very loosely. Stoops, driveways, and front yards are all acceptable, as are solo musicians, dance troupes, juggling unicyclists and puppet theater.
Remember, selling food is a highly regulated industry that requires proper licensing. Operating an illegal restaurant in your front yard is a good way to get a very, very hefty fine from the Health Department and puts our ability to host this thing at risk. So don’t.
